University hopes to secure designation - GAYLE WEBER, Hays Daily News
It’s not a matter of national security, yet. The information, networking and telecommunications department at FHSU is working towards a designation as a center of academic excellence by the National Security Agency. This designation will give the university a unique opportunity to train students in information security and information assurance. But officials at Fort Hays State University hope it will be in the future.... “With our virtual lab, we’re able to provide fantastic simulations for distance learning students,” Bannister said.
