Distance learning courses will lead to the Licentiate - Irish Medical Times
A new initiative between the Irish College of General Practitioners (ICGP) and the Royal College of Physicians of Ireland means the ICGP’s distance learning course in occupational medicine will now lead to the Licentiate of the Faculty of Occupational Medicine in the RCPI. The two Colleges signed a memorandum of agreement that will allow GPs in part-time, and particularly rural, occupational health practice access to an organised training programme. It is expected that about 25 candidates will sit the exams for their Licentiate this year, and applications for the next intake will be accepted later this year.
