£1.5 million pounds distributed to work based learning providers by the Learning and Skills Council
Half a million pounds has been added to the grants available to deliver e-learning in the workplace following an ‘over-subscribed take-up’ of funding. The Learning and Skills Council has increased the grants that the Association of Learning Providers is distributing to work based learning providers. This follows the success of the Learning Innovation Grants (LIG) project, worth over one and a half million pounds that the ALP awarded last summer on the behalf of the LSC. Out of the 189 bids received in the first round of tendering, 108 were successful. ALP believes that the response demonstrates a clear desire on the part of work based learning providers to explore new ways to apply Information and Communication Technology (ICT) to work-based learning and to develop new learning materials and learning support systems.
