UK Further Education needs strong leadership of e-Learning and technology - Public Technology
College principals and governors have taken part in an innovative leadership learning event. Organised by the Centre for Excellence in Leadership (CEL), Café Informatique gave delegates the chance to participate in discussions about elearning, information and learning technologies (ILT) and leadership, either face-to-face at Inmarsat's London headquarters, or from their own colleges via a video conference link. The session was chaired by Dr Ann Limb, and the minister for lifelong learning, further and higher education, Bill Rammell MP, answered elearning and technology questions submitted by delegates. These included questions about: > the role of principals in driving change to maximise the benefits of elearning and technology > how governors should respond to the challenges > how elearning should fit into the many rebuilding projects currently taking place > how the benefits of elearning and technology could be measured.
