Rwanda: KIE Distance Learning Students Protest - Paul Ntambara, The New Times (Kigali)
Students enrolled under the distance learning programme since 2001 have protested the delayed completion of their courses and what they termed as the general poor handling of the programme by authorities. In a letter titled 'A unique diploma fails' and seen by The New Times, the students lament the long duration they have spent pursuing their courses under difficult conditions. One student who chose to remain anonymous disclosed that the programme which was meant to last three years has trudged on and is now entering its sixth year.
