King’s College to offer fast-track secondary education certification program - NICHOLE DOBO, Citizens Voice
Like many professionals, Jessica Glomb wants to continue her education but hardly has time to return to a college classroom. Life and work commitments — she works full-time and is planning a May wedding — make carving time out for classes difficult. It was stories like Glomb’s that made Dr. Keith Dils decide that a flexible program for earning a state teaching certificate is needed in the area.... The program involves a combination of online learning and a course schedule tailored to non-traditional students who don’t have time to be in a classroom on weekdays during regular office hours, said Maureen Sheridan, director of Evening & Weekend Programs at King’s College. There will be periodic interaction with professors and student teaching at the end of the 18-month program.
