Bellingham offers virtual online learning - Amber Herring, Country Gazette
"Learning to invest in the stock market," "The Holocaust" and "CNN gods: Power of modern media," may sound like challenging college courses, but they’re actually being offered at Bellingham High School through the Virtual High School program. The school joined Arnold Communication’s Virtual High School Inc. network two years ago, allowing students to take courses not typically offered and to be a part of a global virtual classroom with students and teachers from around the world. "I’ve had teachers tell me they actually know their VHS (virtual high school) kids much better than their own students at the high school," said Carol Arnold, president of Arnold Communications. "Kids are more comfortable on the Internet and the computer. This is their medium."
