Thailand's oldest public library gets a digital upgrade - SASIWIMON BOONRUANG, Bangkok Post

Microsoft (Thailand) managing director Andrew McBean said the renovated library would add four zones: an Information zone where new books are available; an interactive Kids zone; a Silent zone dedicated to the rare book collection of the Princess; as well as a Cyber zone that houses PCs and other equipment and that could help parents learn about proper online control. The Cyber zone will allow the public to have easy access to digital communications and the opportunity to access the wealth of knowledge on the web.... He noted that Microsoft contributed hardware and software including 22 PCs, one notebook, two LCD screen televisions, five sets of Microsoft Encarta Encyclopedia, software licences for 23 computers, eight courses of the Unlimited Potential Community Learning Curriculum, design consultation, five digital literacy e-learning courses in Thai, and the installation of Microsoft Windows Vista and Office 2007.
