Podcasting around campus - Camille Schrader, DePaulia
For the past six months, Dr. Robert Rotenberg, chair of the Anthropology Department, has been working to set up the first ever student-based podcast network at DePaul. Universities across the country have been using podcast technology, since its inception in 2004, to record professors and podcast their lectures for students to use. DePaul, however, is the first school to produce podcasts that are developed by students.A podcast is an audio file that can range from a few minutes to an hour long that sits on server until a listener "subscribes." The listener receives the audio file through their Internet connection and can listen to it on their computer. The topics can range from news stories to current events discussions to creative non-fiction.
