Kuvempu University poised for great leap - New India News
Kuvempu University has emerged as one of the progressive universities, thanks to the efforts of political leaders, vice-chancellors, registrars, director of distance education and the teaching and non-teaching staff, said Prof. BS Sherigara, Vice-Chancellor. In an exclusive interview with this website's newspaper recently, he said the university was poised for a big leap with its vast array of postgraduate and undergraduate courses in both regular and distance mode. Kuvempu University is actually a rural university catering to students in Shimoga and surrounding districts where more than 30 per cent of the students belong to the backward classes. This has opened up the avenue for the educational and social uplift.
