Internet fees frustrate students, faculty - Rachel Leifer, Hattiesburg American
Many students shrug off course fees for labs and studio art classes as a necessary evil - but they get fired up when asked about their new WebCT fees. The University of Southern Mississippi uses the Internet software program both for fully online courses and as a supplement to traditional classroom courses. The versatile program can be used for everything from discussion forums to giving tests to simply posting an assignment. But any way a professor uses it, as of this semester students now pay $10 per credit hour for courses that employ WebCT - usually $30 a class.
