FAU student population growing – in person and online - Dale M. King, Boca Raton News
Not every student at Florida Atlantic University has to make a daily drive to the campus – or jump out of a dormitory bed -- to attend class. In fact, some don’t event have to make an appearance in the classroom. More and more students are opting for so-called “distance learning.” And they can do it in one of two ways. They can take courses online. Or they can tune in to a class that is being held in a room where the images are transmitted to another site – like another FAU campus. “We are growing so fast – we can’t keep up with the demand,” FAU President Frank Brogan told the Boca Raton News. As a result, the school is using technology to provide education without having to make room for more bodies.
