An iPod nation - Dustin Schoof, The Express-Times
The popularity of iPods has gone beyond their entertainment value. Podcasts and streaming video technology have begun to replace chalkboards and whiteboards in lecture halls across the country. This fall, students at Lehigh University will attend lectures without the help of a whiteboard. Instead, they'll be engaged in classroom discussion through a series of lecture-oriented podcasts. "It's opening up more time for conversation," says English professor Edward Gallagher. "It's the most interactive generation around, with My Space and places like that. "To have that kind of interaction over intellectual issues, I'd like to see that happen more."
