Too cool for school, But not for a home computer - Jennifer Edwards, Odessa American
For the first time ever, some Ector County students can take math and English courses in their jammies. That’s because the school district has added a new program to a growing list — Virtual High School. Just like Michigan, where legislators in May made at least some online learning mandatory for high school students, administrators in West Texas see the program as essential prep for students. “It just makes sense to join the 21st century and do what universities are doing,” Virtual High School principal Rose Valderaz said. “And this makes an excellent transition from high school to university or junior college.”
