Technology center aimed at helping low-income residents develop job skills - EMILY ANDERSON, THE JOURNAL STAR
The lab will offer monthly technology classes starting in July. Artis and Jackson will teach a majority of the classes, with possible help from local businesses and organizations. The classes will teach PC proficiency and basic computer skills. The STEP Center will also host an online university where students can access a large database of self-led courses. The courses will not be for college credit. Although a price has not been named for the technology classes or the online university, the grant will keep rates affordable, Artis said.
