Teachers in Michigan want to keep teaching Las Vegas students - The Associated Press
A pair of high school English teachers who moved to Michigan and have been conducting summer classes online say they want to keep instructing students in southern Nevada, some 1,600 miles away. But Clark County school administrators say no. They say face-to-face meetings with students and parents is essential, even for online instructors.... Vali Crawford and John Struzik moved recently to Marquette, Mich., to care for Crawford's mother, who has cancer. They continued teaching online summer courses to Virtual High students in Las Vegas and are due to submit grades this week.
