State can 'Googlize' virtual university - WILLIAM MARINA, News-Journal
In this column recently, Ed H. Morse suggested expanding public-private institutional partnerships as an interesting alternative to building more state universities. However, a much more easily developed and less costly alternative, is available right now, by expanding existing "distance learning" capacities into a well coordinated, statewide Virtual University program, which at the same time need not curtail the individual efforts, which certainly need to be increased, of the existing distance learning programs at Florida's community colleges, as well as public and private universities.
