FSC to require personal laptops - Jason Abbruzzese, Sentinal and Enterprise
The laundry list of requirements for incoming students at Fitchburg State College just got a little longer: All new students must bring personal laptop computers. Beginning this September, all incoming freshman and transfer students will be required to have laptops, which will become important parts of campus classes. Following in the steps of many state schools, FSC has been preparing to introduce this program for the past three years. FSC President Robert Antonucci said the initiative will enhance the education experience while making technology an important part of the campus.

That's a pretty interesting, yet hard thing to accomplish at most schools. What about the power issues with running out of power? If they are required for school... is the IT dept going to fix them for free? It just doesn't make much sense to me, they aren't rugged textbooks.
