Students have an online adventure - CHRIS LAFORTUNE, Pioneer Local
The head of a snake flashed up on screen before the kindergarten and first grade students at Wilson School on Friday, and a few squeaks burst from the crowd. David Freeman of the group Wilderness Classroom asked the students if they knew what snake it was. Hands shot up in the audience. The kids knew. It was an anaconda.... For the last five weeks, students have followed the travels of Freeman and his group on the Web, at www.wildernessclassroom.com.
Freeman was on hand Friday offering a presentation on life in the Peruvian rainforest. His presentation was the final part of a rainforest unit the entire school has been working on since mid-March.
