Sony brings HD IP video system to light - Laurie Sullivan, IT News
Sony Electronics has taken its broadcast industry know-how and developed a high definition IP-based video communications system for businesses, medical industry and universities. Similar to equipment used for television broadcast production and content creation, the HD application debuted this week at the National Association of Broadcasters 2006 in Las Vegas. The PCS-HG90 codec, combined with the PCSA-CHG90 pan-tilt-zoom camera, can transfer HD-resolution video and stereo audio over an IP network during live surgeries in hospitals or class lectures for universities, Peter Brinkman, senior marketing manager at Sony Electronics, said in an interview.
