Podcasts continue to transmit new possibilities in education - Gayle Weber, Fort Hays State U Leader
Whether exercising on the treadmill, cramming for a test late at night or just catching up on coursework, podcasting makes lectures and course material available at any time. Ron Schott, assistant professor of geosciences, said podcasting uses digital audio that is broadcast on a Web site, generally through a blog or anything else that generates an RSS feed. Anyone can subscribe to podcasts, as they are usually free. Subscribers need a podcatcher, such as iTunes, which regularly checks for and downloads new podcasts. They can not only be seen on iPods, but also on both PCs and Macs.
