Going the distance for learning - GREGG L. PARKER, Huntsville Times
Distance learning, or the use of technology to connect students to remote study sites, has been successful in Madison. So successful that Madison City Schools has been named one of three support centers for distance learning. The Alabama Department of Education chose Madison as the only secondary level system in the state for the Alabama Connecting Classrooms, Educators and Students Statewide Distance Learning Support Center. Other centers will operate at Troy University in Troy and the College of Continuing Studies at the University of Alabama, said Kathy Rains, director of technology for Madison City Schools.
