Over the past decade, we've seen a new generation of software automate just about everything of concern to an enterprise except the processes around actual learning. The proof is in the pudding. Enterprises are more efficient than ever at understanding cost and profit margins, creating optimized logistics plans, executing just-in-time manufacturing, tracking goods throughout the supply chain, forecasting demand, and understanding customer behavior; but less efficient than ever when it comes to the productivity of their own employees.
