Internet TV Provides Valuable Education Content - Yahoo
The rollout, completed in November 2005, is the largest in the nation and includes more than 50 schools in five states with more than 12,000 daily "impressions." LNN operates just like television, with scheduled programming including news, educational magazine shows and public service programming -- all delivered on 30" and 40" plasma TVs in the schools and accessible via the Internet. Unlike regular TV, though, LNN content is fully searchable and available "on demand" from any PC with an Internet connection. Each participating school also receives a "producer kit" that enables teachers and students to create, write, record and produce their own news stories to be seen on LNN.
