Virtual classes have begun in B.C. public schools - Tom Fletcher, Black Press
B.C.'s education ministry has taken its first steps into electronic classrooms, with web-based learning for 91 rural schools to follow a science program for Francophone students that is already underway. For the first time this year, students in three French-language public schools are taking high school science courses with their teacher appearing on live streaming video. Students participate through live chat links. The schools are part of the Conseil Scolaire Francophone de la Colombie Britannique (CSF), a school district devoted to French-speaking public schools. They received $75,000 as one of nine districts in a $546,000 pilot project.
