Online programs give students a shot at degrees away from campus - SAMIRA JAFARI, Associated Press
As a young bride working a full-time job in a small north Alabama town, getting a college degree seemed almost out of reach for Rebecca Fossett. Fossett, who lives in Section, was more than an hour away from the closest four-year colleges, but she had ambitions for bachelor's and master's degrees in business. She quickly found a solution with a few clicks on her computer - the Internet. Now Fossett is graduating next month with a bachelor's degree in business management from Athens State University, taking the bulk of her classes online, sometimes never stepping into a classroom for months.
