UCI professor to 'podcast' classes - GARY ROBBINS, The Orange County Register
Maybe UCI should be called UciPOD, at least when it comes to the teaching of human physiology. Starting in January, biologist Adam Summers, who teaches a class that often has more than 350 students, will make audio and video versions of his thrice-weekly physiology lectures available as "podcasts." Podcasts are audio or video shows for portable music devices. Students - and the public - will be able to download Summers' lectures to their iPods a couple of hours after class ends. And they'll be able to view the class if they own the recently released video iPod.
