National recognition for family e-Learning - Isle of Wight Council, eGov Monitor
To mark the start of Family Learning Week on October 8 the Isle of Wight Council’s Adult and Community Learning Service has successfully developed an innovative e-learning project called 'Discover Island History'. The year-long project, which was funded by the National Institute of Adult Continuing Education (NIACE), aims to promote the use of technology by tutors to support learning by adults. Using interest in local history to engage adults in learning, the Family Learning Service, working with key partners from the council's museums, archives and ICT departments has developed the new 'Discover Island History' website at: http://history.iwight.com/
