A lecturer is pioneering podcast teaching - Margaret Cook, the Age
Occasionally, academic John Carmichael has been forced to take peculiar measures to record what he calls "fireside chats" for his off-campus students. Once he recorded a chat from under a bed. It may not have been the most comfortable position but it helped to drown out the noise of excited six-year-olds at a birthday party in another room. More recently, he recorded from inside a walk-in wardrobe at his home, partly to get away from his boisterous wolfhound puppy but also because "the clothing dampens external sounds".
