JWCC's online courses gaining in popularity - Kelly Wilson, Herald-Whig
The number of students enrolling in online courses at John Wood Community College continues to grow. Scott Johnson, coordinator of online learning, doesn't expect that to level off anytime soon. "It's not a trend or a fad. It is what today's conventional college students are coming to expect," he said. "Their native environment is the Web." More than 1,051 students were enrolled in online classes at JWCC during fiscal 2005 (July 1, 2004, to June 30, 2005). That number has jumped dramatically from 412 online enrollments just three years earlier.
