Howell High plugs online learning - Linda Theil, Detroit News
Even though Ashley Fulton, 18, will never attend the new William Riddle Parker High School, she is benefiting from the latest educational plans for the school. Some aspects of the plan include an Internet-based curriculum recently set in motion at Howell High School, where Fulton is a senior. The program was devised while planning Parker. It's the outgrowth of a district move to reform the way high school students are taught. Internet courses will also be used at Parker, the district's second high school, due to open in September 2007.To graduate, Fulton needs credit for a U.S. history class that she failed last year. Instead of repeating history in a traditional classroom, Fulton chose to take a class via the district's NovaNET online curriculum.
