Free online courses offered to hurricane-displaced students - Crimson-White
In an effort to help students of "impacted institutions" that have been temporarily shut down due to the effects of Hurricane Katrina, the College of Continuing Studies will offer free online courses to the students so they may continue their studies. Funded by a grant from the Alfred P. Sloan Foundation, working with the Southern Regional Education Board and the Sloan Consortium, the courses will be part of a special, accelerated program lasting only eight weeks. The Sloan Semester will offer more than 1,000 courses from more than 200 institutions. http://sloansemester.org
