Online enrollment soars at Lake Land - HERB MEEKER, Journal Gazette/Times Courier
Lake Land College online enrollment increased by 25 percent to 5,538 students during the 2004-05 school year, Lake Land Director of Learning Technologies Steven Garren told the college board of trustees and administrators during Monday's board meeting. The community college has one of the leading online learning programs in the Midwest and more and more students are taking that option for learning. He noted the online retention rate for the college is 77 percent, which is well above the national average for colleges nationwide, Garren said.
