More rural folks need varsity studies: Yee - Malaysia Daily Express
The Resource Development and Information Technology Ministry wants universities to be brought to rural folk, to provide an opportunity for more of them to pursue higher education, via e-learning. Its Minister Datuk Dr Yee Moh Chai said there were still communities in the rural areas of the State not able to enjoy education at university-level. "Therefore, we need to get more people from the rural areas to enrol into a university via e-learning mode," he said, while commending the initiatives pioneered by Universiti Malaysia Sabah (UMS) for this purpose.
