Federal Ministry to promote e-learning at German universities - Heise.de
The German Federal Ministry of Education and Research (BMBF) will provide 25 million euros to 20 German universities intent on establishing or expanding multimedia services such as "e-learning service units." Moreover, with the aim of creating "mostly specialist field-related service entities" the ministry proposes to invest a further 15 million euros in 15 inter-university projects. The object was to modernize with the aid of new information and communications technologies the teaching at and management of German universities, the Ministry declared.
