Chatham College Launches New Academic Year with Expanded Technology Initiatives Across the Curriculum
As they return to campus this week, Chatham College students will find that major steps have been taken to integrate technology into teaching and learning as part of a strategic effort to address challenges that current students will face in the homes and workplaces of the future. Chatham's plan is designed help undergraduate, graduate students and faculty prepare for technology's growing role in everyday life, beyond merely having a computer in the home or office, according to Esther L. Barazzone, Ph.D., Chatham president. "Chatham College is the only women's college engaging in a comprehensive technology initiative that impacts the traditional learning environment of our undergraduate women, our graduate women and men and beginning this year, the online learner," Dr. Barazzone said. "Chatham is purposefully investing in integrating technology in both teaching and learning, driven by academic needs and opportunities rather than for the sake of simply adding more computers to the classroom."
