Twenty years ago, doing research still meant going to the library to painstakingly leaf through dusty books and periodicals just to complete your book report or thesis. For teachers, making lesson plans meant pouring over the school textbook and writing down seemingly endless notes by hand. All that is a thing of the past. In the late 1990s, the arrival of powerful computers and the Internet have changed how we education know education today. Recent findings, which indicate that businessmen in the Philippines ranked first among the world’s most frequent e-mail users only confirms that the country, while still lumped under the demeaning tag as a Third World, is on top of the heap when it comes to use of technology.
