Hot-rod owner Kenneth Parker has always had a bit of motor oil running through his veins. But with a wife and two children, the 38-year-old Surprise resident couldn't find time for an automotive education. That changed in September, when the Universal Technical Institute in Avondale launched the FlexTech online learning program. The highly visual and graphics-rich Internet system allows fledgling auto technicians to learn their craft and keep their day jobs by working online from home and then attending labs at night.
