The Department of Higher Education has introduced the Kerala e-campus as an on-line training programme located at "www.keralaecampus.com" and the Kerala Employability Enhancement Resources, as an on-line merit assessment programme at "www.kereer.com". Kerala may well boast of its achievements in literacy and universal education. It may also be said of Kerala that the State has been resting on its laurels and not making any worthwhile progress in the area of computer literacy or e-learning. However, in a major technology initiative at making the internet a tool for higher education, an Internet server has been hosted and dedicated to the educational sector for the first time in the State.
