BBC picks e-learning chief - e-Consultancy
Anne Eastgate will head up the controversial BBC Digital Curriculum as Project Director from next month, the BBC announced today. Under Eastgate's portfolio will include the delivery of the new service, overseeing of all the editorial content and maximise the 'potential of digital interactivity'. The Digital Curriculum is a new public service from the BBC due to launch in 2006, following a pilot run in schools in 2005. The broadcasting incumbent gained government approval in January last year to offer free digital educational resources to schools and spending £150m of licence-fee cash on the service, much to the dismay of e-learning software suppliers who felt that the move would put them out of business and vowed to take legal action.
