With today's technological advancements in communication it is possible to earn a bachelor's degree from ISU and never set foot in a classroom. Students can take courses over the Internet, through written correspondence, video taped or live-satellite/televised courses. The program is called Distance Learning or Degree Link and ISU offers a wide variety of Distance courses."The program is set up for students what we refer to as are non-traditional students," said Chrys Ford, assistant director of ISU's Distance Support Services. "These students are unable to take classes on campus for whatever reason and this gives them a flexible advantage. Ford did stress that not ever having to set foot on campus depended on the degree. "Many of our programs are degree completion programs, which means the student was on campus and after a couple years decided to move away," she said. "But there are a few degrees that can be earned without ever being at the University."
