New online Epidemiology program approved - Drexel University Triangle News
A new online certificate program will be marketed in late Feb., offering students with bachelors degrees the opportunity to gain training in epidemiology and biostatistics. Biostatistics is the application of statistics to biological data, usually in the sense of medical research. Epidemiology is a branch of medicine that deals with the study of the causes, distribution and control of disease in populations. The two concepts are related in that biostatistics provides epidemiologists with data to monitor, predict, and control the spread of disease in a population.
