COD offers online courses: New ‘ed2go’ program brings classroom home - The Desert Sun
Educational enlightenment is just a mouse click away, courtesy of College of the Desert’s online learning program. No, this isn’t the “earn-your-medical-degree-online-in-six-months” come-on that you might find as you browse through the pages of your local tabloid. This is the real deal. College of the Desert’s “ed2go” program offers hundreds of courses to students, allowing them to update current skills, investigate different career opportunities or pursue new interests. Though the courses are primarily non-credit, some courses can lead to certification in certain fields, including the computer industry. The ed2go program services the community in a variety of ways. For one thing, those who lack transportation or childcare or have health issues that don’t allow them to travel freely, can sit in the comfort of their homes and further their knowledge without a drastic lifestyle interruption.
