Nevada and New Mexico govs co-chairman of Western Governors online university - ASSOCIATED PRESS
Nevada Gov. Kenny Guinn and New Mexico Gov. Bill Richardson have been named co-chairmen of the Western Governors University, an online school that awards degrees based on competency rather than credit hours.... Bob Mendenhall, president of the university that's overseen by the Western Governors Association, said bachelor degree courses for schoolteachers began in March. He estimates that 75 of the school's 1,750 students are Nevadans.
