Insight: Harnessing e-tools for education - Jay B. Hilotin, Gulf News
Can you really learn from the world's top gurus on total quality management on a per-hour basis at less than the price of a hamburger? That may not be possible in a bricks-and-mortar university offering an emphasis on professional credentials. But with e-learning and "mass customisation" in education, that is quite possible. This, in a nutshell, is the driving force behind the creation of e-TQM College, a Dubai-based virtual university. Harnessing the electronic tools for education means not just replacing the typewriter. Using e-learning as the main mode of delivery, e-TQM seeks to become a repository of knowledge on Total Quality Management and to usher in a knowledge-based economy and society in the Middle East and the world.
