A Guided Tour of MIT’s Latest Learning Technologies - Lisa Neal, eLearn Magazine
Learning technologies are currently being used—and developed—at MIT in a variety of ways beyond the well-publicized OpenCourseWare initiative. This was made clear by Al Essa, CIO of the MIT Sloan School of Management, in a presentation to the New England Learning Association (NELA) in September 2003. Essa started with a tour of the more controversial additions to MIT's campus, and challenged the audience to find the parallels between aesthetics in e-learning and architecture. This is an interesting challenge because e-learning designers don’t typically think about making their products “beautiful and enduring,” as Essa put it.
