Online courses: A growing trend in education - Brian Stelter, the Towerlight
Online courses will be the focus of a newly formed distance education task force. The group will examine current examples of distance education at Towson and consider the direction the University should take in order to enhance offerings. The formation of the task force was outlined in President Robert Caret's fall address in September. David McDonald, special assistant to the Office of the Provost, said that offering educational materials via the Internet could be a primary mode of distance education. Some colleges view distance education as a revenue source, but its effectiveness as an educational tool is a priority, McDonald said.
