More Than Three Fourths of Companies Provide Tuition Reimbursement, Insight Express Survey Finds - University of Phoenix
Despite the need for cost-cutting and some layoffs, 78% of companies are investing in their workers education and skills by providing tuition reimbursement according to an Insight Express survey. The Insight Express survey was conducted among 314 human resource executives from companies with more than 1000 employees. It also found 25% had increased the amount of reimbursement over the last three years. "To keep pace with the demand for advanced degrees as a factor in professional success, educational programs that target adult workers are growing exponentially," says Brian Mueller, CEO, University of Phoenix Online. "Many of these programs are offered via the Internet, which is emerging as a highly effective mode of delivering educational services." In fact, online education, or e-learning, is considered by many to be the Internet's "killer application."
