How Byte Back Spans the Digital Divide - Kate Golden, onPhilanthropy
The Wired Nonprofit's Editor spoke with Daniel Corbin, a member of the board of DC-based Byte Back: DC: Byte Back, founded in 1997, is a 501(c) 3 non-profit organization that provides computer training to underemployed and unemployed adults, and computer access to at-risk youth. Byte Back also provides mentors and job-placement services to regular students, graduating interns, and alumni to assist in achieving their employment goals.... Because it is difficult for many students to maintain a job or uphold family obligations while attending class, we are adding e-Learning to our program base, a program in which students will be able to access all of their curricula online. This will give the students the flexibility they need to advance their tech skills.
