Global meet stresses importance of e-learning - Times of Oman

ETEXOman-2003, the International conference and exhibition, highlighting cutting-edge e-learning technologies and issues in practical applications, opened at SQU yesterday under the auspices of Malik bin Suleiman Al Ma’amari, minister for transport and communications. Addressing the gathering, SQU President Dr Saud Al Riyami said: “Educational institutions are no more satisfied with traditional teaching methods neither with dull educational materials. They provide various facilities for educational and information technologies and are keen for practical and efficient implementation processes that justify the increasing spending on these instruments, programs and facilities. Having succeeded in introducing e-learning, the SQU Centre for Educational Technology (CET) is currently developing a comprehensive strategy for e-learning to serve and upgrade the university’s objectives to advance them to higher academic levels,” he added.
